Fabric Care
Caring for Silk
Cared for well, silk lasts a lifetime.
Washing
Hand wash only, in cool water with a gentle detergent. Never machine wash agitation damages the fibre and dulls the sheen. Never wring or twist the fabric; press the water out gently instead.
Drying
Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight, which fades colour over time. Never tumble dry.
Pressing
Steam to release creases and restore the fabric’s natural fall. If ironing, use a light, low-heat setting ideally through a cloth, and on the reverse of the fabric.
Storing
Store hanging or gently folded, with room to breathe. Avoid plastic garment bags, which trap moisture.
Marks & Stains
Treat marks quickly and gently blot, never rub. For anything stubborn, a specialist dry cleaner is safer than a home remedy.
